This is more of a mini rant than anything and the subject is certainly nothing new. Lo! It’s as old an argument as deviantArt itself; Nudes.

Really it boils down to this (for me); I’m young enough to enjoy the female form in all its glory but old enough to know when someone is either posting photos of naked women to increase the amount and frequency and page views and favs or women posting similar images to meet the same goal.

And I wonder: How many of these people truly believe that these “works” are allowing themselves a form of expression (or other such goal) and how many are simply creating these images for attention.

Personally, neither page views nor favs, are really that important. What matters to me is that I enjoy creating images and then sharing what I come up with, with the people here, in this site.

I’m not saying that these deviants are wrong in any shape or form, but it saddens me when i browse DA’s latest entries to find some real gems of photography pages down the line and far from the eyes of where most people will even bother looking.

So, I’d ask of anyone reading this; look further beyond the (mostly boring and predictable) nudes and take a minute out of your day to find something you consider underrated and share it with your fellow artists.
